The Council of Legal Education is established under the Legal Education Act, No. 27 of 2012 of the Laws of Kenya.

The core functions of the Council of Legal Education are to regulate legal education and training, to license and supervise legal education providers; conduct Bar Examinations; and to advice the Government on matters relating to legal education and training.

In order to efficiently and effectively deliver its functions, the Council wishes to recruit a full time high calibre staff in the following position:-

Job Title: Manager, Standards, Quality Assurance and Compliance

Quality Assurance Manager Job Overall Purpose

• Reporting to Director, Compliance, Accreditation and Quality Assurance, the successful candidate will be responsible for administering the accreditation processes and oversee day to day quality assurance activities including inspection of training providers.

Key responsibilities

• Administer quality standards for approval for legal training providers;
• Coordinate under the guidance of the Director, the process of reviewing and processing applications for approval by training providers;
• Monitor the adherence to standards of training and set curriculum by all training institutions;
• Receive and review all applications for recognition, equation and accreditation of foreign legal qualifications in Kenya and make recommendations to the Director;
• Coordinate the development of a comprehensive and updated database of accredited legal training providers;
• Participate in training of legal training providers in legal training standards;
• Develop a comprehensive system to track the performance and integrity of the staff involved in monitoring and inspection of training providers.

Qualifications and Skills for Quality Assurance Manager Jobs in Kenya

• Masters degree in Law
• Professional qualification and demonstrable experience in Standards and accreditation;
• At least 8 years relevant working experience, 3 of which should be at a senior level in a similar environment;
• Experience in conducting research;
• Report writing and high level interpersonal skills;
• Team player, self-driven and focused;
• Must be computer literate;
• Highest levels of integrity

Salary Scale
Basic Pay: Kshs.134, 400 x 6,720 to 141,120 x 6,720 to 147,840 x 6,720 to 154,560 x 6,720 to 161,280 x 6,720 to 168,000 x 6,720 to 174,720 x 6,720 to 181,440 x 6,720 to 188,160 x 6,720 to 194,880

House Allowance: Kshs.50,000

Commuter Allowance: Kshs.14,000
