Our client an international IT company specialized in development and implementation projects for the financial sector is looking to fill the position of an ICT Project Manager.
Qualification:
  • Must have a Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science/ Economics or equivalent.
  • Must have5 years of similar experience in the software industry and good understanding of IT fundamentals.
  • Proven experience in creating and managing business and project related documentation.
  • Experience in requirements development, customer interaction and compilation of multi-source information.
  • Skills to present information in a clear and structured way, both in verbal and written form.
  • Excellent analytical skills to understand the macro parameters and at the same time to pay attention to the details.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Ability to speak Spanish or French will be an added advantage.
  • Maintain white papers, product sheets and marketing materials and participate in pre-sales process.
  • Good knowledge of the microfinance domain will be considered an advantage.
Deadline: 20th January 2015
Monthly gross salary: 300,000 – 400,000 depending on experience and qualifications

CAP Youth Empowerment Institute Kenya, is supported by MasterCard Foundation, was established to provide Basic Employability Skills Training (BEST) for disadvantaged youth in the society with particular focus on women to get equitable, qualitative learning and access to promising labour market oriented opportunities, savings and credit that support their pathways to safe and positive futures.
10,000 disadvantaged youth to make informed choices, develop labour-market oriented employability skills and access job placements, savings and enterprise development support.
 
About the position 
Successful candidate will be posted in one of the Centres as an Entrepreneurship / IT Trainer.
He/she must have basic ICT Skills. He/She must be self-driven and work with minimal Supervision.
Candidates from Nakuru / Kisumu / Eldoret / Kakamega are encouraged to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • We are looking for people who have pride, passion and energy, but mostly love TEACHING.
  • Take responsibility for the quality of teaching delivered.
  • Assist young people to write business plans.
  • Developing, customizing and Delivering Entrepreneurship curriculum.
  • Assist students get internships and placements.
  • Link the youth with potential funders.
  • Adequately equipping the students with Entrepreneurial skills.
  • Carry out monitoring, guidance, support and mentoring of the learners and take action as required.
Skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle diverse tasks simultaneously using prioritization.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent Presentation skills.
  • Dynamism, creativity and flexibility.
  • Networking skills a must.
Requirements
  • At least One (1) year experience in Entrepreneurship.
  • Must have Entrepreneurship background.
  • Must have ICT Skills.
  • Must be mature and with the right attitude.
  • Must have passion of working with young people.
  • Past experience working with NGO will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated Experience in transferring Entrepreneurship knowledge.
  • Degree in related field.

Senior Information Systems Officer
Main Purpose of the Job
The individual assigned to this position will have the responsibility of supervising the assigned IS Team members in order to ensure complete implementation of the IT Systems strategy, business solutions for regions and their performance in line with set policies, processes and procedures.
Main Responsibilities
Ensuring compliance of all information security policies for servers, email system, end user computing, mobile devices, cloud platforms, websites, portals, application systems and databases.
Preparing and facilitating Systems Risk Assessments and IS Audits in line with the company’s IS Risk management framework
Business IT Process improvements and recommendation to the Chief Information officer
Ensure implementation and full compliance by users of all ICT policies and procedures
Ensuring quality assurance of data and information for all departments
Generating MIS reports for management use and manage monthly IT dashboard/performance reporting
Ensuring effective IT Service Delivery and 3rd party relationship management
Monitoring systems performance and recommending solutions in line with emerging technologies
Identifying, implementing and benchmarking best practices in management
Implementing change initiatives to achieve desired business plans and culture
Project manage user acceptance testing (UAT), customization, configuration, maintenance and rollout of secure networks, telecommunication solution, applications, databases mobile and cloud systems.
Facilitate continuous integration and maintenance of all systems (hardware, software, network and storage) and Security systems (CCTV, Access Control etc.) to ensure they meet the business needs
Ensures IS Officers use standard procedures and tools to carry out defined system backups, restoring data where necessary and document entire process. Regularly reviews DR/BCP strategy and policy.
Ensure regular review/monitor systems storage and capacity for future expansion planning
Manage IT Service Desk and provide quality service delivery to all clients by providing effective feedback
Review and ensures safe custody of all IT systems documentation and records management
Identify, provide technical specification and recommendation of ICT products and service procurement
Managing the IT assets register; ensuring its up-to-date for obsolesce planning & management
Identifying, implementing, benchmarking and shares best practices in systems management
Implementing change initiatives to achieve desired business plans and culture

Requirements

• Must be between 25 to 35 years of age.
• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline from a recognized University.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, presentation,creation delivery skills and a self-starter who truly enjoys working in a fastpaced
environment.
• Practical knowledge of CCNA, MCSE / MCITP / MCPD, LPIC / Linux+ /RHCE, Network, Security+, Cisco, Networking, and *nix, Microsoft, Prior hands-on experience as a systems or network administrator.
• Thorough understanding of TCP/IP and network protocols, UNIX/Linux/BSD systems, Microsoft Operating Systems and solutions, Databases (MS SQL,MySQL, PostgreSQL), Networking (LAN, WAN etc)
• Strong working knowledge of network directory services, including configuration of user identification, authentication and authorization.
• Knowledge of and experience with object-oriented design and a good appreciation of Banking Operations.
• Proficiency in ERP software’s preferably Microsoft’s NAVISION SOFTWARE will be added advantage.
