National Housing Corporation (NHC) is a State Owned Enterprise (SOE) established under the Housing Act Cap.117 of the Laws of Kenya and is the principal agent of the National Government in implementation of Housing.

The principal role of NHC is development of decent and affordable housing, facilitating rural housing development as well as mobilization of local and international capital for housing development.

The Engineer (Civil/Structural) reports to the Chief Engineer and is responsible for the following

Engineer Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Designing and preparation of Civil Engineering drawings;
• Designing of Structural Engineering drawings;
• Preparing schedules for implementation of Engineering projects;
• Preparation of Bills of Quantities and specifications for Civil and Structural Engineering works;
• Liaison with Clerk of Works to ensure that engineering work is done properly and accurately on site as per specifications;
• Supervision of Assistant Engineers and Technician’s work.

Requirements For Engineer Jobs in Kenya

• Have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized University ;
• Be a Registered Engineer with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) for a minimum of three (3) years;
• Have six (6) years relevant experience in Civil and Structural Works;
• Be a Corporate Member with the Institute of Engineers of Kenya (IEK);
• Be computer literate and be proficient in Civil Engineering Design and Drawing Software (Auto CAD, Prokon or Eagle Point).
