Our client is a leading cereal manufacturer and importer. They seek to hire a self- driven Head of Sales (Modern Trade) to manage and build strong business relationships with all the key accounts, as well as manage and oversee the profitability of business by developing long term and short term sales goals.

Head of Modern Trade Duties & Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the acquisition, development and retention of Modern Trade channels.
• Build long lasting preferred vendor relationship with key Modern Trade Channels and act as an indispensable service partner to them.
• Define a strategy to continuously gain market shares in all modern trade channels.
• Preparation of timely budgets for the department.
• Managing a team of sales executives and merchandisers.
• Ensure uninterrupted availability and visibility of entire product range in all modern trade channels.
• Align the internal process and systems to meet the needs of modern trade.
• Developing market plan to increase sales.
• Meet and maintain monthly, quarterly yearly sales targets.
• Ensure that the sales team that is under Modern Trade is well equipped to perform their duties.

Requirements for Head of Modern Trade Jobs in Kenya

• MBA – Sales & Marketing
• Post graduate diploma in sales & marketing
• Must have managed a team of keys accounts executives and merchandisers
• Must have more than five years in the same position in the FMCG industry
• Between age 35 – 40 years old
• Have a proven track record of developing new business and growing sales in existing accounts
• Enjoy working independently, while still being team-orientated
• Possess an entrepreneurial attitude
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills
