Human Resource Assistant Jobs at The Council of Legal Education, Kenya

The Council of Legal Education is established under the Legal Education Act, No. 27 of 2012 of the Laws of Kenya.

The core functions of the Council of Legal Education are to regulate legal education and training, to license and supervise legal education providers; conduct Bar Examinations; and to advice the Government on matters relating to legal education and training.

In order to efficiently and effectively deliver its functions, the Council wishes to recruit a full time high calibre staff in the following position:-

Human Resource Assistant Job Overall Purpose

• Reports to Human Resources and Administration Officer. The successful candidate will assist maintaining the office infrastructure and processes; implementing procedures related to human resources and administration.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains employee files, assuring timeliness, accuracy, completeness, compliance and confidentiality
• Assists in new employee orientations, ongoing employee meetings, and training sessions
• Compose correspondence, documents, forms, and reports; related to human resource
• Verifies human resource documents and forms to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with human resource.
• Assist in the drafting of job advertisements for vacant jobs, screening applications, shortlisting and interviewing and selecting candidates
• Implement HR policies, practices, and procedures, and ensure compliance with legal laws and/or regulations as regards recruitment
• Maintain an up to date and accurate staff records and filing system
• Assist in the drafting of job advertisements for vacant jobs, screening applications, shortlisting and interviewing and selecting candidates
• Ensuring high standards of office cleanliness, sanitary hygiene, health and safety and security in the Council
• Ensuring timely bill settlement and overseeing the use of utility bills; telephones, water, and electricity
• Data preparation for the payroll processing

Qualifications and Skills for HR Assistant Jobs in Kenya

• Professional Higher Diploma in Human Resources Management
• A Relevant Degree will be an added advantage
• Practical knowledge of labour laws and statutory returns
• Minimum 3 years’ experience
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Communication skills, both verbal and written;
• Good planning organisation skills
• Computer literacy and familiarity with the human resources information systems

Salary Scale
Basic Pay: 40,250 x 2,012.50 to 42,262.50 x 2,012.50 to 44,275 x 2,012.50 to 46,287.50 x 2,012.50 to 48,300 x 2,012.50 to 50,312.50 x 2,012.50 to 52,325 x 2,012.50 to 54,337.50 x 2,012.50 to 56,350 x 2,012.50 to 58,362.50

House Allowance: Kshs.28,000
Commuter Allowance: Kshs.6,000
