NOW HIRING A TEAM TO MANAGE A WOMEN’S ENTREPRENEURSHIP CENTER IN NAIROBI

WECREATE | KENYA is seeking imaginative and dynamic female leaders to direct its entrepreneurship center programming, including community development, promotion and mentor networks.  The positions currently open include an Executive Director and a Marketing and Outreach Coordinator. 

The WECREATE | KENYA team will focus on entrepreneurship programming, community development and promotion, as well as managing mentor networks. These full-time Professional and Administrative Staff will report to the Advisory Board of WECREATE | KENYA, and their main focus will be on supporting aspiring female entrepreneurs and existing women business owners, growing mentor networks, and enhancing Kenya’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The WECREATE | KENYA team will engage with a diverse group of constituents, including female entrepreneurs, mentors in a variety of fields, donors, advisors, male champions of women, and WECREATE staff.

As a member of the WECREATE | KENYA team, you will help women entrepreneurs to expand their businesses while generating momentum for economic and social change through a portfolio of business growth programs, tools and events created to address the barriers faced by women seeking to start and grow their businesses. You will participate in the development of a collaborative approach for the Center, by engaging key players to create a culturally sensitive entrepreneurial ecosystem and safe environment for women.

The Women’s Entrepreneurial Center of Resources, Education, Access, and Training for Economic Empowerment (WECREATE) Project is a physical entrepreneurial Community Center, designed as a safe and centralized location for women to gain access to vital economically empowering resources. The WECREATE | KENYA Project is a public-private partnership between the U.S. State Department and StartUp Cup. Implementation of WECREATE | KENYA is led by global implementing partner StartUp Cup with local implementing partner, Youth Banner.

• Passion for the WECREATE | KENYA Mission: WECREATE | KENYA mission is to empower any women, from any background or education level to start and grow their own business.
• Ability to Accept and Motivate Others: Keen ability to attract and inspire others including advisory board members, mentors, entrepreneurs and volunteers.
• Lead with Dedication and Loyalty: What we like to call, “Give it away to get it back.” A focus more on what you can give to others rather what you can get.
• Deals Well with Healthy Conflict: Handling adversity with grace and poise is a key to success, including taking constructive criticism with a positive attitude and not personally.
• Think strategically and Implement Tactically: Ability to see the big picture while being able to implement tactical plans effectively to move the WECREATE | KENYA forward.
• Fundraising Skills: Has knowledge and experience in fundraising techniques, including events and gift giving.
• Excellent Listener: Has an ability to actively receive input and listen to many viewpoints while suspending judgment and inner thinking.
• Never Ever Give Up Attitude: Does not let obstacles or challenges stand in your way and can persevere through difficult times with grace.
