Position: Sea Transit Manager
Our client is recruiting for a Sea Transit Manager with experience in the Transit business to work in a leading Logistics company.
Responsibilities for Sea Transit Manager in Kenya
- To ensure transit import cargo is cleared within the required KPI.
- To ensure the communication to clients is correct and send on time.
- To ensure operational issues are sorted and to supervise, assist the relevant subsections.
- To allocate and plan loadings of all cargo within agreed and signed of rates with transporters in relation with the transport section.
- To ensure all quotes are approved by client and costing done.
- To maximize the profit of the transit activity by method of buying and negotiating better sub-contractor rates
- To minimize the storage and demurrage expenses and exposure
- To address all delays and issues with management.
- To ensure that relationship with relevant authorities are maintained.
- To provide the monthly statistics and comments.
Qualifications & Skills for Sea Transit Manager in Kenya
- Bachelors Degree ( BCom/Admin) good knowledge and exposure to Transit clearing and forwarding
- Must have at least 5 years experience in the Logistics industry
- Familiar with the East Africa corridor – Nairobi , uganda and South Sudan ,TZ , Rwanda , Burundi.
- Be computer Literate
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Posses a valid driving license
