Our client a international education company which to be the world’s leading provider of quality education, enriching the lives of millions of children and the communities in which they live is looking for a Manager School Operations at their UGANDA Office.

Job Title: Manager School Operations
City & Country: Uganda
Direct reporting line: School Principal
Dotted reporting line: Regional Manager School Operations

Job Objective:

  • Manager School Operations to manage efficiently & effectively the school operations by administering and operating physical assets & value added business processes in a timely and responsible (financial) manner in order to continuously exceed internal and external customer expectations while embracing the OUR CLIENTS Core Values.

School Operations Manager Job Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train and mentor operational and administrative support staff including: Supervisor school Facilities, IT, Transportation,
  • Administrative support and cleaning team, maintenance team, and to ensure achievement of their respective duties in a timely and quality manner.
  • Ensure that all facilities, operations functions are in compliance with OUR CLIENTS GLG and Oasis guidelines and, that all rules and requirements are respected and followed.
  • Ensure effective coordination between operations and all other departments: administration, security, finance, procurement, PRE,
  • Education— in order to ensure smooth running of organization.
    Support and enable program technical staff to have the needed tools and supplies to help in all repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure a work environment that is positive, cooperative, and effective.
  • Develop, in coordination with the Regional MSO and HR an effective and efficient process for the hiring, managing, evaluation, and mentoring of staff.
  • Provide guidance on all aspects of operations for efficient project implementation and ensure that administrative and operational functions and staff continue to improve in quality and efficiency, insure that OUR CLIENTS Global tools for effective organization and management are utilized.
  • Ensure efficient organization and execution of school events, security, facility use, arrangements for visitors lodging, catering, equipment use, etc.
  • Oversee and ensure effectiveness and transparency in use of Operational funds, vehicles, equipment, and budgets to accomplish goals.
  • Carry out other duties as specifically assigned by the Regional MSO and CEO/Principal.

Scope & Financials (Optional)

  • Work with the Regional Finance Manager to manage the School Operations budget

Working Environment, Interfaces And Decision Making

  • Internal: Regional Team, School Leadership team, all members of staff.
  • External: Corporate Referral groups, Suppliers, contractors, 3rd party service providers

Job/ Person Specifications

Qualifications / knowledge for School Operations Manager Kenyan Jobs

  • Graduate in Business, Minimum BA, preferably an MBA.
  • Fluent English communication skills. Attention to detail with diligent
  • Skills: follow up, and able to execute in a timely manner. Skilled in multi- tasking and handling pressure. Capable of influencing people and
  • talented in networking with cultural sensitivity.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a senior level position within a service
  • Experience: oriented industry. Previous experience in an International School a competitive advantage.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Successful Delivery— of 6 month stated goals and objectives, projects delivered on time and within budget.
  • Effectiveness—in communication, parent satisfaction, customer relations, setting up clear lines of responsibility and authority within department.
    Proactive planning—action plans for every month, term breaks, and summer breaks, prioritizing projects that will lead to great
  • improvement in facilities and service level.
  • Budget Prudence—understand and have ownership of the Operations and CAPEX budget to use the fund in a responsible, sustainable, and transparent way to accomplish all of the goals set by the Principal and Leadership team
  • Facilities Management—maximize the use and increase longevity of all assets and facilities
  • Evaluate Service Providers—to insure that the best quality service is provided at a reasonable cost, through the use of surveys, evaluations, completion certificates.
  • Team Building—work with staff and through the use of positive reinforcement, incentives, recognition of excellent work, clear communication, and team meetings build a positive, cooperative spirit among Ops and Facilities team members
