The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (Placement Service) has been established as a Body Corporate under Section 55 of the Universities Act No. 42 of 2012 with its functions being to, among others coordinate the Placement of Government Sponsored Students to Universities and Colleges.
The Placement Service invites applications for the position of Supply Chain Officer.

Supply Chain Officer Job Specification
- Develop, implement, review and monitor the sections standard operating procedures and ensure that they conform to the Public Procurement and Disposal Act and Regulations;
- Coordinate and supervise the tendering process and prepare asset inventory;
- Establish control mechanisms in the management and use of procured items;
- Provide advisory services on procurement matters including preparing plans on disposal of unserviceable, obsolete and surplus assets;
- Monitor contracts and vendor performance;
- Keep custody all procurement documents including inventory of goods and services in line with the requirements of regulation 34(3) of the Public
- Procurement and Disposable Regulations 2006;
- Coordinate implement and enforce policies, regulations and procedures relating procurement; and
- Prepare suppliers invoices creating a linkage between procurement and payment files in accordance with section 45(6) of the Public Procurement & Disposal Act 2005.
Minimum Requirements for Supply Chain Officer Jobs in Kenya
- Have a Masters and Bachelors’ Degree in Procurement, Supplies Chain Management or other related area.
- Have served in a senior Procurement position for five years, three (3) of which must be in a senior management position
- Be proficient in the use of computer applications and Management Information Systems in procurement;
- Have demonstrated a high degree of professional competence managerial and administrative capability as reflected in work performance and results; and
- Be a member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management or other relevant professional body;
Applicants should attach clearance certificates from the following bodies,
- Kenya Revenue Authority
- Ethics and anti-corruption commission
- Higher Education Loans Board
- A Licensed Credit Reference Bureau
- Director of Criminal Investigation and
- Relevant Professional Body.
