Area Manager – Emali Program

Position Type: Full-Time/Regular
General Description of Role:
Responsible and accountable for all aspects of programming in the program area – particular high quality contract deliverables; new program development and conceptual strategic leadership with respect to area specific programs/projects; team building & staff development; representation and coordination.Grant making skillsHigh level of credibility and integrityCommunity mobilisation skillsSound management skillsDonor contract management
Key Duties:
Ensure compliance of (Letter of Agreement) LOA by all projects in the cluster by way of field monitoring visits, review of monthly narrative and financial reports
Ensure all the area adhere to ChildFund programming principles; procurement, administrative and financial policies
Provide technical and administrative assistance to Coordinators in the various projects to enable them meet their goals
Monitor projects to pro-actively identify risks related to LOA/Contract compliance and prescribe, implement and manage corrective action
Ensure ChildFund is updated on progress and developments in the Area through timely submission of reports
Ensure ChildFund funds are used in accordance with ChildFund policies and procedures
Ensure timely audit within Area is undertaken on all the projects and that issues arising from the audits as well as audit recommendations are implemented
Build and foster good relations between ChildFund Kenya, other NGOs, and GOK in order to enhance ChildFund image, visibility and access to information resources
Required Experience
Minimum 5 years experience in program development and management
Demonstrated experience to child rights approaches
Experience in programme design, budget development/financial management and report writing
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences
