Area Finance & Admin Officer – Emali Program

Job Description: Description of the Role: Reporting to the Area Manager, the Area Finance Officer will be in charge of the financial management in the area
Required Skills:
Competent with all Microsoft Office & accounting packages
Good organisational and time management skills
Required Experience
At least two years Professional experience in accountancy and administration especially in an NGO
Qualifications:
CPA III, A Bachelors degree will be an added advantage
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintaining all cash books
Issuing cash payments/petty cash management
Ensuring that floats are used for the purpose for which they were issued and that they are recovered on a timely basis
Ensuring that all cash expenditure are appropriately approved
Ensuring that cash expenditures are coded correctly and charged to the appropriate donor/project cash accounts.
Processing cheque payments and ensuring that appropriate supporting documentation is attached to all payments
Ensuring that all invoices are paid on time and that expenditures are appropriately authorized.
Preparing of the monthly management accounts and donor reports;
Preparing financial reports/reconciliation for internal monitoring.
Maintaining the finance department’s filing system
Any other duty as assigned by the Area Manager
