Are you self – driven with a results driven orientation?
Our client, a leading investment company, has been in operation for over 10 years. With an investment portfolio of over KShs 500 million, the company now seeks to recruit a Managing Director to drive the national and regional growth strategy.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director will be responsible for the investment performance and overall management of the Company’s investments.
The core responsibilities include:
Identify and engage in potential strategic investment trends and opportunities.
Identify sources of debt financing relationships.
Develop and recommend investment policies and strategies.
Review and monitor investment performance while working with direct reports to ensure timely and effective decision-making.
Reviews and monitors portfolio risk characteristics and compliance with investment guidelines.
Monitors asset allocation and implements re-balancing actions in accordance with the investment policy.
Coordinates and manages completion of due diligence activities with outside consultants within stipulated time frames and budget.
Provides updates on project due diligence critical path schedule at least weekly.
Immediately communicates newly discovered risks or problems with pending acquisitions to Board of Directors.
Creates and maintains a team of professionals (internal or external) to originate, analyze, finance, close, manage and sell public and private equities and real estate, both direct and indirect, investments.
Works with professionals to structure and negotiate private equity transactions such as buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, by overseeing closing of transactions.
Hire and develop employees and evaluate overall performance including conflict resolution.
The qualifications of the ideal candidate are:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Management or a related field.
Minimum eight years progressive experience in management, three of which should be at senior management level.
Sound knowledge of the inward investment process.
Good knowledge of different market sectors sectors.
Significant experience of successfully managing investment services.
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with proven ability to develop and sustain partnerships.
High level operational management and leadership skills with the ability to handle sensitive issues.
Resilience under pressure.
High degree of personal and professional integrity.
A successful track record of locating, structuring, financing, managing and disposing of investment ventures.
Proven aptitude in liaising, negotiating, influencing, presentation skills and establishing a credible consultative role on all aspects of closing deals with key external clients.
Competency in strategic planning, budgeting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must demonstrate ability to be independent  self-driven with a results driven orientation.
