Vacancy: Knowledge Management Manager
The Somalia Program Support Services (SPSS) contract implemented by International Business and Technical Consultants Inc.
(IBTCI) provides support for program-related services to program and technical teams in the USAID/EA/Somalia Office in Nairobi, Kenya.
Part of SPSS’ objective is to monitor and/or verify activities carried out by Implementing Partners (IPs) across Somali.
THIS IS A LOCAL HIRE, WITH NO EX-PAT BENEFITS.
IBTCI is seeking a Knowledge Management Manager to provide overall guidance and leadership in the areas of data and information management including the development and implementation of a Performance Management Plan (PMP) Database System to manage data provided by IPs.
- S/he will collaborate with USAID Somalia IPs to collect the information reported by the IPs, perform data quality control/assurance, and report this information to USAID Somalia.
- Further, the Knowledge Management Manager will facilitate effective processes, systems and tools to manage IPs performance data and information.
Knowledge Management Job Responsibilities:
- Design a PMP Database in MS-Excel; set it up to track all indicators reported by IPs
- Train IPs to enter disaggregated data by activity locations for each reported indicator
- Serve as the coordinator between USAID, IPs, SPPS and other authorized users for the full life cycle
- Respond to USAID’s need for regular and ad hoc reports
- Update the PMP Database based on IP Activity M&E plans, quarterly reports submitted by partners, updates to the Mission PMP, changes in strategy, Data
- Quality Assessments, and other relevant documents and processes
- Ensure each indicator is linked to the IPs results framework, DQA date, target actuals by quarter, percentage deviations between actuals and targets, and explanations for deviations
- Assist in reviewing, managing, and analyzing the data from USAID IPs
- Train USAID Somali IPs in entering data into the PMP Database ensuring that they are able to generate reports
- Train USAID Staff in entering data into the PMP Database ensuring that they are able to generate reports
- Assist with site selection for Monitoring, Verification & Reporting
Qualifications for Knowledge Management Jobs in Kenya
- A background or understanding of Monitoring & Evaluation is critical to this position; this knowledge should include familiarity with: performance indicators, frameworks/PMPs, monitoring/ verification workflow processes and data quality assessments
- At least 5 years’ of professional experience in designing and especially using MS Excel-based MIS for reporting
- Proficiency in working with statistical and qualitative databases such as NVIVO, SAS, STATA, SPSS etc.
- A Master’ s degree in appropriate research related field
- Demonstrated experience successfully communicating with users to create systems that meet individual and organizational needs
- Superior project management skills and the ability to take initiative working with the direction of management, must be able to take ownership of projects, creatively problem solve and see through to completion
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Excellent English (written and spoken)
- Knowledge of USAID projects and terminology is desirable
- Candidates must be self-motivated and quick learners.
