National Housing Corporation (NHC) is a State Owned Enterprise (SOE) established under the Housing Act Cap.117 of the Laws of Kenya and is the principal agent of the National Government in implementation of Housing.

The principal role of NHC is development of decent and affordable housing, facilitating rural housing development as well as mobilization of local and international capital for housing development.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Kenyan citizens to fill the following vacant position:

The Architect will report to the Chief Architect and shall be responsible for all aspects of the project including preparation of project proposals, design and supervision of construction work.

Architect Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares project proposals, design and supervision of construction work as a Project Architect.
• Undertakes all construction contract administration matters and advising the Chief Architect on the same.
• Preparation of forward budgets under the guidance of the Senior Architect.
• Attending site meeting and making project progress reports to the Chief Architect.
• Co-ordination of regional project teams activities.
• Supervises staff and architectural works in the drawing office.
• Undertakes all job costing and project feasibility studies.
• Prepares all drawings for repair works in Corporation’s rental schemes and properties.
• Ensures that all construction work is done in accordance with project specifications.

Requirements for Architect Jobs in Kenya

• Possession of a Bachelors degree in Architecture from a recognized University.
• Be a Registered Architect by the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors for a minimum of three (3) years.
• Possess six (6) years work experience in Architectural work.
• Be a team player with good interpersonal skills.
• Be computer literate specifically ArchiCAD/AutoCAD.
• Possess relevant experience in Project Management
