Our client, a French multinational that is among the Fortune Global 500 companies is looking to hire a Managing Director for its Kenya Operations. The organisation operates in 80 countries worldwide and has over 400,000 employees.

The Managing Director will have the overall responsibility of leading the Company’s operations in Kenya by adapting the strategy of growth while ensuring it is in line with the organisation’s internal policies, objectives and strategies. The role of the Managing Director is multidimensional, as the jobholder will interact with the local authorities, clients, merchants, his/her peers at the worldwide level, the area and the international development team.

The Managing Director will also be expected to manage a team as well as have the ability to think in a long term development strategy while being hands-on. He/she must have an appreciation for the mobile money industry and e-payment platforms and must also embrace the digital culture, as well as be an excellent developer with a strong intuition of markets and their evolution;

Managing Director Job Responsibilities

• Leading the company by adapting the strategy of growth, and by permanently monitoring all potential areas of risks;
• Developing client relationships by being a privileged contact for the key accounts and/or representative, and visiting new key prospects;
• Developing partnerships;
• Guaranteeing the P&L of Kenya operations and securing the sustainability of the financial model;
• Recruiting and managing a dedicated team;
• Preparing a strategic plan for the Kenya operations;
• Analyzing and monitoring market trends;
• Following up on the legal and fiscal environment;
• Overseeing all the operational processes for Kenya and ensuring smooth operational implementation and excellence; and
• Implementing necessary processes to secure and control the activities

Qualifications For Managing Director Jobs In Kenya

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field;
• Ten (10) years professional experience with three (3) to five (5) years in senior management;
• Capacity to build a sustainable position in a new market;
• Should have a good financial culture;
• Should be a person of high integrity, persistence and humility;
• Must be a strategic and innovative thinker;
• Should be autonomous self-motivated;
• Should possess excellent communication and social skills; and
• Should embody service spirit, team spirit and the spirit of progress.
