Our client is one of the leading producers of FMCG. They produce quality branded tomato sauce, chilli sauce, fruit jam, fruit juice and bottled mineral water. It has an over 30 year’s reputation whose products have been well received locally and internationally within the COMESA markets. They are looking for a Finance manager to join their team.
Reports to: Director

Job Purpose
As Finance Manager you will be the responsible Finance Officer for the organisation to provide management information and advice to management, customers, shareholders and other stakeholders. The Finance Manager will ensure the overall business and individual contracts are profitable and will develop commercial proposals in conjunction with the Service Delivery Manager and the General Manager, ensuring adherence to the governance timetable.

Finance Manager Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for the company’s financial systems, policies, processes and controls.
• Working with the General Manager and Service Delivery Manager to ensure that individual contracts are profitable
• Financial review and sign off any business proposals, funding and grant applications.
• To undertake Company Secretarial duties to assure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Managing external relationships with Auditors, the Bank, Insurance Companies
• Providing support to Trustees and Directors, with a direct relationship with the Treasurer and Chairman of the Audit Committee.
• Providing direction to the Finance Administration Assistant
• Providing companywide leadership to the organisation to support the development of an effective work force,
• providing training and guidance on financial and commercial matters.
• Responsible for risk assessment, to develop business wide risk registers, implement and monitor effectiveness of internal controls.
• Establishing financial systems, policies and processes to assure managers and stakeholders
• Responsible for insurance; the management of claims and information returns.

Person Specification
To be successful for the role of Finance Manager you will be a Qualified finance professional and an additional management qualification is desirable.

Experience Qualifications For Finance Manager Jobs In Kenya

• At least 5 years’ experience in a senior financial role.
• BCOM Finance
• Significant experience of managing staff.
• In depth understanding of risk management and internal controls.
• Experience of implementing, developing and managing financial systems.
• To have an in-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel packages.
• A broad understanding of the transport sector is desirable.
• Ability to analyse financial and business information and to present recommendations and advice to stakeholders
• To have a high level of commercial awareness (contract profitability, pricing, tendering and business negotiations) 
• Ability to make sound judgements to assure compliance with corporate governance requirements 
• Develop continuous improvement programmes for the finance and commercial functions.
• Demonstrate a high degree of honesty and integrity
