Our client, a Manufacturing entity outside Nairobi is seeking to fill the position of CHIEF CIVIL ENGINEER

The Chief engineer will play an integral role in the overall success of our client’s projects

Engineer Job Responsibilities

• Undertaking technical and feasibility studies including site investigations
• Using a range of computer packages for developing detailed designs
  recruits engineering staff
• performs quality control checks, ensuring the safety and effectiveness or reliability of the system or product
• Undertaking complex and repetitive calculations
• Liaising with clients and a variety of professionals including architects and subcontractors
• Compiling job specs and supervising tendering procedures
• Resolving design and development problems
• Managing budgets and project resources
• Scheduling material and equipment purchases and deliveries
• Making sure the project complies with legal requirements
• Assessing the sustainability and environmental impact of projects
• Ensuring projects run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time

Desired Competencies

• Sound mathematical and technical skills including physics
• Ability to think methodically, to design, plan and manage projects
• Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills combined with the ability to delegate

Requirements for Engineer Jobs in Kenya

• Bachelors degree in Civil engineering
• Must have overseen design and implementation of Projects
• MUST be willing to work on a fulltime basis with the client company
• MUST be prepared to work extremely long hours
• Sound technical knowledge in permanent way construction and maintenance.
• At least 10 years post graduate experience
• Must be Registered by the Board of Engineers
