The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) is an independent Office established under Article 229 of the Constitution of Kenya. The Office is charged with the primary oversight role of ensuring accountability in the use of public resources within the three arms of government (the Legislature, the Judiciary and the Executive) as well as the Constitutional Commissions, Independent Office and any entity that is funded from public funds.
Pursuant to Article 252 (1) (c) of the Constitution, the Office seeks to recruit qualified and competent staff from the external market to fill the following positions:-
Manager Audit – OAG Scale 5
Qualifications For Audit Manager Jobs In Kenya
- The applicant must have at least eight (8) years’ experience in Audit, three (3) of which must beat management level in a sizeable and similar organization
- Shown outstanding competence in managing the audit function or other responsibilities at a seniorlevel, matched with broad experience and knowledge of financial management, policies and goals.
- Demonstrated a high degree of administrative capability required for the responsibilities at thelevel of Manager of Audit.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Information Technology
- Additional relevant expertise (e.g. Forensic, Performance Audit, Value for Money and IT Systemsaudit will be an added advantage.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Manager – Audit, the incumbents will be deployed to work in any of the OAG offices
located in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kakamega, Nyeri, Embu and Garissa. He or she
will undertake assignments allocated to him / her by the team leader which may include performance
audit, systems and process audit or audit of annual accounts of any entity funded from the public funds.
Audit Manager Job Responsibilities
Audit Associate I will be responsible for:-
- Auditing and assurance work of prescribed scope and complexity in the National or CountyGovernment entities, State Agencies and State corporations or any entity funded from publicfunds.
- Review implementation of Information systems and processes
- Confirm whether the auditees comply with appropriate standards and best practices.
- Obtaining an in-depth understanding of each business or function being audited, identification andassessment of risks.
- Prepare documentation (working papers, planning memorandum and audit program).
- Developing, presenting and finalizing audit reports.
