Location: Johannesburg, Nairobi or London
Duration: Three year Fixed term contract
Salary: £54 372, Grade F

The Strategic Improvement Lead supports the Director of Finance and IT in the management of change across the InternationalFinance & IT function.

Roles & Responsibilities for Strategic Management Lead in Kenya

  • The role will specifically lead the Finance Transformation programme, with a structured project management and change management approach that aims to ensure that the delivery will result in sustainable changes to systems, processes and people capacity to ensure Finance and IT can add value to the organisation in supporting our mission.
  • The role will focus on leading the change projects to key deliverables and embed change processes within the finance and IT function for long term sustainable
  • Providing dedicated capacity to lead priorities that have been identified within Finance and IT change programme.
  • Ensure appropriate quality assurance is applied to the overall change programme.
  • Embedding change management methodology and formal approach to communications within Finance & IT functions
  • Engage with other dependent projects and directorates on changes in the organisation to ensure that Finance & IT is involved in planning of new products, processes and members.
  • Business owners for decision making purposes and set out clear matrix for ensuring decisions are made at appropriate levels.
  • Manage the communication to key stakeholders in finance, country management, international secretariat, international board
  • Ensure appropriate level of engagement and consultation on change projects, ensuring that key stakeholder feedback is appropriate incorporated into projects, and communicated back to stakeholders.
  • Manage external and internal resources within allocated budget and to contractual conditions
    Building and motivating teams and managing effectively from a distance.
  • Supports both the professional and personal development of the staff ensuring they are able to be proactive on all matters thus maximising and integrating the effectiveness of the service they provide to fulfill organisation goals and plans.
  • Responsible for managing delegated budget responsibility for resources within approved limits. Delegation to other team members can be done but overall responsibility remains with Budget holder.
  • Act within the parameters set by the International Secretariat financial policies and procedures
  • Professional Business or Accounting Qualification
  • Significant post qualification experience in providing strategic support
  • Ability to think strategically, to delegate where appropriate, to prioritise competing demands, to influence a peer group
  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills. Fluent spoken and written English
  • Experience of working in an international environment
  • Commitment to AcionAid’s vision, mission values and way of working
  • Ability to manage relationships at all levels Experience in managing or implementing
