Reporting to: Managing Director

Finance Key Accountabilities

• Ensure income received is properly accounted for and transactions are correctly captured
• Ensure expenditure incurred is properly authorized;
• Manage procedures in place to provide for a sound internal control system
• Ensure financial information is timely, comprehensible, relevant, and reliable
• Coordinate the external audit in a timely and effective manner.
• Oversee the preparation of detailed annual budgets
• Ensure income expenditure is properly accounted for in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Ensure timely, reliable and relevant financial reporting is provided to the relevant stakeholders; and
• Ensure annual accounts are prepared, audited and presented within the stipulated time.
• Set an example to colleagues on standards, work ethic and professionalism
• Responsible for accounts receivables and accounts payable, payroll and tax processing
• Accurate book-keeping, bank reconciliations, imports processing and fixed assets accounting
• Be involved in regional expansion

Skills, Qualifications and Competences for Accountant Jobs in Kenya

Finance and Accounting qualifications

• At least 5 years relevant experience
• At least CPA (K)
• Bachelors of Commerce Degree with MBA as an added advantage
• People management skills
• Objective mind
• Keen attention to detail
• Numerical skills
