Nyeri County Government Vacancies
The Nyeri County Government wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following positions:
County Chief Officers (10 Posts)
JG ‘S’
Terms of Service: Term Contract
The posts will be one for EACH of the following portfolios:
Finance and Economic Planning
Agriculture Livestock Cooperative Development
Health Services
Public Administration, Information and Communication
Water Sanitation  Environment  Natural Resources
Trade Investments  Industry
Transport, Roads Rural Electrification  Public Works
Education  ICT
Physical Planning and Housing
Tourism, Culture, Gender, Youth  Sports
Duties and Responsibilities
The Chief Officer will be the Accounting and Authorized Officer for the Department assigned and will be responsible to the respective County Executive Member for the following:
General administration and coordination of respective County Department.
Initiation, development and implementation of policies and sector plans.
Development and implementation of strategic plans.
Promotion of National values and principles of governance and values and principles in the County Public Service.
Overseeing implementation and monitoring of performance management systems.
Any other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Committee Member or the County Secretary.
Requirements for Appointment
The Candidate must:
Be a Kenyan citizen;
Be a holder of at least a first degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
Have a post graduate qualification in a relevant field;
Have relevant knowledge and experience of not less than ten (10) years in a senior position in the Public Service or Private Sector; and
Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
A Master’s degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage.
Remuneration
Basic Salary: Ksh. 120,270- 180,660 p.m
House Allowance: Ksh. 56,000 p.m
Other Allowances: Ksh. 20,000 p.m
Medical Cover
Service Gratuity of 20% of basic salary on completion of the contract
30 days annual leave with leave allowance.

Note
(i) All applicants are required to obtain clearance from the following Institutions:
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
The Ethics  Anti Corruption Commission (EACC)
A recognized Credit Reference Bureau.
Copies of these certificates must be attached to the applications.
(ii) The application should reach the Secretary, County Public Service Board, on or before 21st August 2013.
(iii) Only Shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
(iv) Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce their original National Identity cards, Certificates and Testimonials at the interview.
